The number of scored NEMS races fluctuates each season. To accommodate this variability, and to maintain a consistent framework around how the “best of” number is calculated, NEMS uses the following calculation:
The total number of scored races, divided by two and rounded up to the next full number. The max "best of # of races" is 9 races.
(Total # Races Held / 2) → Rounded to next full #
Example:
# Scored Races |
Best of Race # |
14 |
7 |
15 |
8 |
16 |
8 |
17 or more |
9 |
Tiebreaker:
In the event of a tie, we will look at the racer’s number of first place finishes. The racer with the most first place finishes will win the tiebreaker. If the number of first place finishes does not resolve the tiebreaker, we will then look at the number of second place finishes and so on and so forth until a winner can be determined.
